I own 40 acres of land in the Lucerne Valley area of California. There is an existing Edison Tower currently on the property. I am interested in leasing our property. It is also irrigated desert farm land with no obstructions.
You would want to look for a Wind Developer in Lucerne Valley or the surrounding areas to negotiate a contract for the lease of your land and the existing turbine(s). Do you know who the original developer was? They may be able to help facilitate the conversation or provide the original feasibility study that was done on your 40 acres.
I am very interested, please contact: irichman@comcast.net

My family was approached recently by a Solar company to potentially build a 100acre farm in central PA. on coal land that we own. We don’t want to commit to a long term lease until we speak to other developers. A Transition line boarders our 412 acre parcel and we are capable of preparing a pad ready site for a solar farm. Please contact for more details of the site.

Hi Greg,
transmission line or substation?
I am interested to purchase a land and lease it to solar farm company.
Land A (100 acres) is close to a major transmission line (230 KV). The distance between land to transmission line is 2 miles. (farm with house)
Land B (100 acres) is close to a substation. The distance between land to transmission line is 1 miles. (farm with house)
Land C (200 acres) is close to a substation but it has many trees and also has a pond . The distance between land to transmission line is 2 miles. (vacant land)
Land D (200 acres) is under major transmission line There is a couple of power towers across the land. (vacant land)
Which land I should purchase? Any suggestions? Thanks.
Wei, Thank you for your comment! With the limited amount of information you’ve provided, this is a much better question for the solar developer you’re looking to partner with.
I own a 430-acre farm in extreme northeast Missouri (Clark County). One hundred acres is very flat(<1% slope), another 80-100 acres has a 2.3% slope or less. The farm is bisected by a transmission line(130kv) owned by an electrical cooperative. Any solar farm developers in the Midwest that build solar farms and sell the electricity to cooperatives?
Please contact me at 561-630-7975.
I have a proposal of $1300 per acre and a 2.5% modifier per year on 35 acres of land. My land is in New England, flat, facing south gid is on my property and access from a State Road.
Is this a fair price?
Kerry, That’s a very good question! We don’t plan or appraise renewable project sites but here are the largest solar developers (by New England Project Capacity(MW)) who could help determine the fair market value of your land. Borrego Solar Systems, National Grid, NextEra Energy Resources, Ranger Solar & BlueWave Solar.
Are any USA Solar developers interested in projects in Taiwan? I’m looking for investors and developers who want to partner with local EPC company. Good growth potential 500MW-1GW within 3-5 years achievable.
Gary, thank you for your comment! As of this morning (5/20/2019) there are no U.S. solar developers or financiers actively developing or investing in Taiwan. The top solar developer investing in this region is URE (Formerly Known As – Neo Solar Power).
Hello! I own 183 acres of land in upstate New York. I have been extremely interested in the renewable energy industry and am willing to offer the majority of my open/tillable land to a developer looking to build a solar farm. Many other properties in the area already have solar/wind farms installed, so I’m sure the area is cleared for zoning. From what I’ve read, the land meets all criteria for lease. Does anyone have any contacts that could benefit my inquiry? Thank you.
Please email details/photos of the land.
Please reach out to me if you haven’t sorted this out yet
Hi,
We are a consulting firm engaged with a state department in EPC for last few years procuring material as well as providing construction services in irrigation ,education and power sectors. We are having a proposal for providing construction services for 1000 MW plant and looking for possible foreign solar panel provider or group of providers where it is possible to secure loan from government based agency like exim bank or other such entity. We act as consulting firm for the govt dept and are willing to collaborate with any such consulting firm if there is any. Preferably USA based companies.
Look forward to hearing from you.
This is a large request to do in the comment section. Put some time on my Calendar and I’ll show you how we can help!

I own 40+ acres in Siskiyou County Ca just South of the City of Montague. The land is almost due South, sloping 2-3% to the Little Shasta River. The land is mostly undeveloped and open with only a few trees. Land parcels in this area are large so there are few neighbors.
There is an established high voltage line and easement running through the property. This seems like it would be an ideal location for a photo voltaic farm attached to the grid. I am interested in developing a farm at this location. Interested parties please respond.
Another interested party in leasing land for development. I own 160 ac in Kern County, CA exactly between the largest wind harvest area (Mojave) in the state, and the newly developing solar arrays in the Jawbone area near Cantil. According to state ‘wind maps; wind-speeds are the state’s highest. My property has had (to my knowledge) all desert land evaluations performed and is ready for development. The energy company that I had a contract with pulled out during the last econ downturn saying, they “could very well go ahead at a later date.” I am longer under contract with them [AES], and would like to offer this prime location to other developers, but who?
Michael, thanks for your comment! I did a quick Energy Acuity renewables search and here are the Top 5 Wind Developers with Active Projects by Capacity (MW) in the area: 1.) Terra-Gen Power 2.) Greg
Recently inherited 160 acres near Pueblo Co and I keep getting mail about Solar Farming. Going to visit to get “eyes on” in Oct. Would like to start collecting information & educating myself before my visit.
The internet provides an overwhelming amount of information. Where does one start?
Ken, thank you for your comment! First, you have to decide exactly what you’d like to do with the land. Solar leasing can be a great way to preserve the land, keep it in the family and provide your community with clean power while also providing passive income.
The next step is to talk to a greenfield developer or a company with land services to see if the land is suitable for solar. Here are some considerations to think about (provided by our friends at Urban Grid):
– Does the property have access to electric utility infrastructure (i.e. interconnection)?
– Is the property flat and cleared of trees?
– Are there any wetlands and floodplain impacts on the property?
– Does the property have any protected ecosystems or organisms?
– Does the property have any cultural or archaeological resources?
– Does the property provide net gains to the local communities utility-scale power development?
Here are the top 5 developers with active solar projects (within 50 miles of Pueblo, CO) who may be willing to evaluate your land. 1.) sPower 2.) Juwi Americas 3.) Innovative Solar Systems 4.) Invenergy 5.) SunPower
I agree, solar power is a fantastic solution for off-grid power needs and great investment in the long term, definitely much quieter than generator. Thanks for featuring and comparing the best brands, it does help narrow down my list. Great read!
