The Gemini Project BESS is an early stage, pre-construction, energy storage project located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 690 MW solar project (Gemini Solar) being planned for 25 miles northeast of Las Vegas, may include a 531 MW battery component to allow power delivery even when the sun has set. Owner, Developer & EPC Arevia Power plans to begin construction in 3Q19 and be operational by 2023.

The FPL Manatee Energy Storage Center project is an early stage, pre-construction, energy storage project located in Manatee County, Florida. The 409.00 MW Manatee Energy Storage Center is scheduled to be operational by 2021. In connection with the 74.50 MW FPL Manatee Solar Energy Center (Solar PV), this energy storage project is being built to help phase out two units of its gas-fired Manatee Clean Energy Center. Florida Power & Light Company is listed as the Power Purchaser on the energy storage project, as well as the Owner & EPC for the Manatee Solar Energy Center.

4.) Anbaric Renewable Energy Center

The Anbaric Renewable Energy Center project is an early stage, pre-construction, energy storage project located in Somerset, Massachusetts. The central element of the Renewable Energy Center is a 1200-megawatt (MW) high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter, an investment estimated at $250 million, to serve the emerging offshore wind industry. In addition, Anbaric will commence development of 400 MW of battery storage on-site, which would bring an additional $400 million in investment. Scheduled to begin construction in 2021 and developed by Anabaric Development Partners in partnership with Commercial Development Co. (CDC).

The LIPA Battery Power System project is a suspended energy storage project located in New York. AES Energy Storage has submitted a proposal to build a bank of batteries capable of storing 400 MW of power for Long Island Power Authority. The system would provide enough storage to power tens of thousands of homes and is listed as being owned by PSEG Long Island.

7.) Crimson Energy Storage

The Crimson Energy Storage project is an early stage, pre-construction, energy storage project located in Riverside County, CA. Owned and developed by Recurrent Energy, this energy storage project is planned to be coupled with the 350.00 MW Crimson Solar project. Crimson Energy Storage project is scheduled to be operating by 2020. If constructed, the battery energy storage system would consist of up to 3,000 electrical enclosures measuring approximately 40 ft wide by 8.5 ft high and installed on concrete foundations.

The Vistra Moss Landing Energy Storage project is an early stage, pre-construction, energy storage project located in Moss Landing, California. The 300.00 MW Vistra Moss Landing Energy Storage project is scheduled to be operating by December 2020. The project would be directly connected to transmission infrastructure through an adjacent 500 kV substation that was used for the now-retired unit 6 at the Moss Landing power plant. The battery would be able to deliver 2,400 MWh of discharge per day – two cycles per day, essentially doubling the practical size of the unit. This energy storage project is owners and developed by Vista Energy with active partner Dynegy.
